Stint

A focus app for remote work, when no one is watching

Working from home removes the commute and the office, and with them most of the structure. Stint brings back a reason to sit down and do focused work: a daily goal, a group taking the same challenge, and an entry fee in a shared prize pool.

Structure for your workday

  • Join a pool with a daily focus goal that fits your work, such as three hours of deep work a day.
  • Choose your work apps on each device: your editor, design tool, docs or spreadsheets. Time in them counts.
  • Choose what to block. Only the apps and sites you pick are blocked, and only during a session.
  • Qualify by meeting the goal on the days the pool’s rules require, and split the prize pool with everyone else who qualifies.

Built for the computer you work on

Remote work happens at a desk, so Stint runs there too. Stint for Mac sits in the notch and Stint for Windows sits in the tray: both count your work apps and block the sites you chose in any browser. The browser extension adds time on your work sites, so a day spent in web tools counts.

Your phone joins the same session. One session covers every linked device, so a distraction on your phone doesn’t slip past while you are at your laptop.

Accountability without surveillance

Stint checks that focus is real without reading your work. Each device sends the number of seconds per minute in broad categories such as work or a blocked app. Window titles, full web addresses, page content, keystrokes and screenshots never leave your computer.

Coworkers you choose

A pool is a group taking the same challenge, with its own chat for check-ins and cheers. Private pools are invite-only and shared by a code or a link, so a remote team or a group of friends can take one on together.
