A focus app for Mac that lives in your notch
Most deep work happens at a desk. Stint for Mac counts the time you spend in your work apps, blocks what you chose to block, and keeps your session and your pool one glance away at the top of the screen. For macOS 13 or later.

The notch island
Stint sits around the notch as a slim black strip. While a session runs it shows the time left; in a running pool it shows the day and whether you have qualified today. Hover for one-click starts such as Focus 30m or Until I qualify, or click to open the island with your session, your pools and your devices.
Macs without a notch get the same island at the top of the screen. Control-Option-S opens it from anywhere.
Block the apps and sites you choose
Pick apps to block from a grid of the apps on your Mac, with the usual distractions shown first. During a session, opening one covers it with a block screen.
Sites you add are blocked in any browser, not only the ones with an extension. Add the Stint extension to Chrome, Edge, Brave or Arc and time on your work sites counts too.
Nothing is blocked unless you chose it, and nothing is blocked outside a session.
Stats
The Stats page shows your current and longest streak, the days you qualified this month and your focus time. A month calendar marks each day, and a day shows its sessions and how its time split between your computer and your phone.
Checked, not self-reported
- Only time in your work apps counts, and only while you are active: the Mac needs recent keyboard or pointer input and an unlocked screen.
- Stint counts key presses and pointer movements, never which keys you pressed or what you typed.
- Window titles, full web addresses, page content and screenshots never leave your Mac.
- Now and then a presence check asks you to click a button or type a short code, so a session can’t run on an empty desk.
Set up in a minute
Install the app and it shows a QR code. Scan it from Settings, Connected devices in Stint on your iPhone or Android phone, and your Mac joins the same account. See all downloads.
