How prize pools work
Everyone pays the same entry fee. Everyone who qualifies splits the prize pool equally.
The parts of a prize pool
Entry fee
Set for each pool and the same for every member. Any service fee is shown at checkout before you pay.
Prize pool
The entry fees together. Once the challenge starts, they're committed to the prize pool.
Platform cut
Set by the pool's creator and shown before you join. Any cut comes off before the split.
A worked example
For example, a pool of 8 with a $20 entry fee and no platform cut has a $160 prize pool. The numbers are made up; every real pool shows its own.
| Qualify | Share each |
|---|---|
| 8 of 8 | $20 |
| 5 of 8 | $32 |
| 2 of 8 | $80 |
With a platform cut, it comes off the $160 first, so if nearly everyone qualifies a share can be less than the entry fee.
Why fewer qualifiers means a bigger share
The prize pool is set once the challenge starts and is divided by however many people qualify. You're not racing anyone: everyone who meets the goal qualifies. When someone misses, their share goes to the people who made it.
If you don't qualify, you forfeit your share. The most you can lose is your entry fee; you're never charged more for missing a goal.
Every payout is reviewed
When a pool settles, each qualifier's share becomes a pending payout. The Stint team reviews it with a legit score from 0 to 100, built from your focus data: how many days you met the goal, how consistent you were, and whether your sessions ran clean.
Approved payouts are sent outside the app through a third-party payment service. A payout can be withheld or reduced where there is evidence of cheating.
You must be 18 or older. In some regions, real-money challenges may be unavailable or offered with points instead. The full rules are in the Terms.
